You and your relationship are special and unique. Your ceremony should be an expression of your beliefs, values, and dreams. This questionnaire was developed for the purpose of assisting you to highlight and celebrate those elements which are most important in your marriage.

  • Why are you getting married?
  • What does your marriage mean to you?
  • What are your religious beliefs?
  • What is the importance of family in your marriage? What are their beliefs?
  • What is the importance of community in your marriage?
  • Whose wishes or needs besides your own do you want to consider in planning the ceremony?
  • Who will be performing the ceremony? How much choice will you have about the style and content of your wedding ceremony?
  • Is music important to you? What sort of music fits your style (classical, jazz, popular)?
  • Are there any special words or images that you would like included in the ceremony?
  • What promises do you want to make to each other? What promises do you want made to you?
  • What promises, if any, do you wish to make to the family and friends assembled? What support might you ask of them?
  • Are there any words, pieces of art, family mementos, songs, etc. that are symbolic of your hopes and dreams that you might like to have included?
